Ray Walters with his partners, friends, and the sponsership of Wal-Mart Distribution Center 6042 in Pauls Valley is riding his Bicycle across the State of Oklahoma for the Children’s Miracle Network. This is the 5th year that Ray has participated in the Oklahoma Freewheel event. We have raised over 7,500 dollars for the Children. Ray will cycle 500 miles the you can join in by making a Pledge per mile or a flat donation. Together we can make a difference.

I came to Oklahoma 15 years ago, drawn by the C.R. Anthony Endowed Chair in Pediatric Pulmonology (supported by Children’s Hospital Foundation and Children’s Miracle network) and by a vision (really a dream) shared by the Pediatricians at the Univ. of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and the community we served to make medical care for the children of Oklahoma as good, or even better, than anywhere else in the nation. With great community support (such as this event) and great leadership, astounding progress has been made. Today, we are recognized nationally for the quality of our Pediatric care and we are well known for having vigorous community support that others can only envy.

So, GIVE LOTS OF MONEY. The money you give to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Children’s Hospital Foundation stays right here in Oklahoma to help the kids of Oklahoma. I can assure you that no donated dollar is more productive than the dollars you give to this effort. To those that have donated in the past, thank you; your generosity has truly benefited many sick kids that now have a better life. To those of you thinking about donating now, stop think and just give. Yes, we are doing pretty great now but the reality is that funds determine whether we can keep what we have and, better yet, keep pushing forward to do better and better.

And, while you are giving LOTS OF MONEY, go ahead and put my name on it. You can not only (and most importantly) help the kids of Oklahoma but also allow a 58-year-old, nerdy pulmonologist to feel like a “dude” again, if just for one night.

I am beyond thrilled about this exciting opportunity to participate in Dancing for a Miracle and help support The Children’s Hospital Foundation here in Oklahoma.

When my son Camden was diagnosed with leukemia back in 2005 our world was turned upside down. Over the past 6 years CHF has become a huge part of our lives. If it weren’t for all that they invest in the lives of the children here in Oklahoma I know my story would be a lot different that it is today.

Over the next few months myself along with a list of amazing community leaders here in Oklahoma will begin our quest to raise money for this incredible organization, slip on those dancing shoes, participate in dance lessons with talented instructors, somehow manage to squeeze into a stunning costume, and eventually perform and compete in front of what I’m sure will feel like millions when I’m on stage getting ready to perform.

I am so honored to be dancing to support not only Camden but all the other sweet miracles that are fighting everyday!

This is a great opportunity to make a BIG difference in the lives of so many and I can’t do it without your support!
